How a Tech Company Reset Its NetSuite Implementation

The Challenge

Our client joined the company when it was 10 months into a NetSuite implementation that had never truly gone live. Key financial processes like month-end close and reporting weren’t complete. Their opening positions were not sorted out each month, so there had been compounding problems. They spent a year trying to go live with NetSuite, but never actually got across the line.

The team could post transactions but couldn’t reconcile the balance sheet or generate reliable reports from the system. They had to manipulate data in Excel, increasing the risk of error and wasting valuable time. With a company merger underway and pressure mounting, it was clear the system’s setup needed more than a few fixes; it needed a rethink.

The migration and set up of the system had not been configured in the right way which meant they couldn't report our numbers out of NetSuite every month.
